Sumit - your questions, comments about rules.

Yes, of course, admin has final say.  Nobody can even MAKE a group that violates site rules.  You bring Warez on the site you are done.  You allow it in your group your done - it is against the law of the land, PERIOD.  But the Group Leader is the mod of that group.  They are the ones involved in their group - they know what kind of group they want.  If you don't like swearing in your group and someone is saying "fuck" three times a sentence, you may remove them.  Some group leaders will not moderate speech.  If someone is harassing another member of your group, it is YOUR job as creator of a group to get rid of them.  You cannot expect the moderators to run around patrolling YOUR group.  What comes of a site where members have free reign to create groups and there are hundreds - yet they can't moderate their own club?   We will not have our time wasted taking care of your "babies".

If you have formed a group, you have the vision of what you want for that group, it is your vision you must follow.

Other than that - there will be a time that groups will need to be okayed before created.  We are here so that there is a solid foundation of people who understand the site mechanics, the ethos, the rules before the door opens.  We can not have a mass of confused joiners with no experienced people in the area to help out when the flood gates open.  Some of what you get free - will be fee soon.

Of course on site blogs and pages, etc - Admin will moderate.  We will kick anyone to the curb that violates our terms and rules generally.  Yes what we say is bottom line.  IF we boot you,  you are booted.  Period. There have already been spammers axed while you have been enjoying the scenery.

There are 4 admin.  Jared, of course, He is Ra in this universe.  His word is final no matter what ANYONE thinks.  GT, Michael Mayo, and myself are admin.  We are the guard dogs, traffic directors, site hosts and hostesses, the support crew, and coordinators. We wear whatever hat we must to get this site into a full functioning and valuable machine.  As the site grows, there wll probably be need of further moderation even without the need to babysit groups.

Judiciary takes up matters of complaints that need arbitration.   It is the Judiciary Review Board's function to make sure that arbitration worthy complaints are addressed.  We can make mistakes, we can be confounded.  We need some sort of arbitrage and the Chief Justice will take the roll of arbtirator.  If policy here is deemed necessary, the Chief Justice and Review Board, will make decisions that will allow for policies to be put into effect in non-restrictive as possible fashions.

We have already extended the offer of the Judiciary to a very astute and worthy TMer and are waiting for an Iye or Nye.

Dan asked -Will the rules be accessible so people can see them before they sign up?

We have a TOS that needs one or two modifications then it will go on the bottom of the site where it says TERMS.

We have a CODE OF ETHICS.   Jared is looking for a nice spot to stick that just for esthetic value, however, both the TOS and COE will be put on screen for the new joiner before they click the button to sign up when the site goes to paid status.  They will also find their way to the Help Desk Knowledge base after they are proofed again.

Members who have created groups are free to put their group rules, goal statements, COEs etc on group pages as they wish as well.

Okay.. My question didn't concern the groups. But, I think every person should read that before he starts a group.

I didn't know there were 4 admins (So, yeah.. it was MM who flipped me this morning. You sneak! :p).

So, who's the potential Chief Justice?

Sumit.

Potential officers and admin will not be announced until they accept positions.   If the person Accepts, they will be announced.  If not, we will continue to seek the officer.

Positions will be invitation only.

Indiana has just accepted the title and responsibilities of TM Chief Justice.  If you wanna cry  - cry to him, eh? LMAO.

Hey, Sal. Thanks for the opening post here. Well-stated and clearly spoken.

I know that few people would question the purpose and value of TOS and COE (though, they would certainly challenge them), but my 2-cents worth at this point is simply to point out our bottom line and ultimate goal. In your words:

"... to get this site into a full functioning and valuable machine."

Jared's vision, in part, is to create a membership site packed with so much value that even the "Big Dogs" of Internet Marketing will come here and will recommend others to come here.

Setting (and enforcing) the TOS and COE is just one important step in the process.

We've got a long & bumpy road ahead of us folks, but we will soon reach our destination.

Thank you very VERY much to everyone who has been helping make this a smooth ride throughout our journey... ;)

I don't see a Code of Ethics as a goal........I see it as an Ethos.  It's a statement of who we are and who we want to associate with - what we respect and admire about others here on a personal note.  Of course, we will see amazing things to be thrilled with and in awe of from the many exceptional minds gathered here.  But to have brilliance and ethics creates such a vital and unique environment - so motivational and comfortable, that we can't do other than achieve an empire.

Well, I'm being verbose again.  What I really mean is just:  (this one's for you Jared)

We has a special.

LOL... we do "has a special" here Sal... thanks 4 that... however it's not "a special" without "Us TM'ers" making it so... ;-)

Well I just figured that's why the only people we see here has a special.  Takes one to know one.

You guys have made an excellent start to achieving the vision for this place.  I like the emphasis on ethics, to be honest.  I don't want to hang out with sleazeballs, dirtbags and scammers.

Big round of applause for all the administrators!

Applause go to Jared, Tina - he's the guy with the vision.  He's the one that sat up day and night working with codes and deciding what features to start us with - guessing what we would need, and understanding what we might want.

The work he has poured into this site has been overwhelming - and only when the doors were opened to the core did he ever ask for help - when we could see what he was doing so we could be part of the vision instead of just hearing empty plans.

Jared's truly earned the respect of any IMer on the net with this one.
