I like to to use Google Books for content.  Using an advanced search with an exact phrase, and search perimeters for full view and pre-1923 you can come up with an amazing amount of content.

Sal like rocks and minerals and the such, lets show her some public domain books that talk about the

LOL - I've got deep search on that one, George, hahahaha. 

But for people who are interested in science fields they aren't real familiar with:

Some of those resources are for research only and can't be used as is - but many you can legally clip something and credit it to give your content authority, if you can't just publish the material.
