hehehe... GT, I see you have found the new video feature is working (I've hacked the code temporarily, will need to code it properly tomorrow)... just a tip, we are not limited to just YouTube vids, it has support for many of the top video hosting sites.

I've still got a bunch of work to do on it, so I'm going to have to disable it later this eve before I go to sleep...

Post your favorite vids quick before it's disabled for a day or two...

P.S. You can also add a video to your profile page, goto your profile, click the Edit Page button, then drag the Video Widget onto your profile wherever you want it displayed. From there you can enter a vid url, and title/description (with html links). The only limitation is that you can only display one video, but you can edit/change your profile video anytime. This "Profile Video" feature is solid, and I won't be removing it any time soon, unless of course there is any major bugs/errors found...

Wow Jared,

This acesending order of posts is going to be very hard to scroll through by the time March rolls around. Perhaps you could invert the listings like they are on The Wire?

Other than that, it will be so cool to be able to post videos here.

Bill, the Discussion Groups here work just like regular forums, the OP is always at the top of the first page, so people can read the discussions progressively, and once it hits 50 replies, page 2 links appear... 100 replies, page 3, etc...

The Wire, and Blogs run in reverse order, showing the latest wire posts, or blog posts first.

As for adding video, see the icon in the toolbar to the right of the smiley button? click that to add a video.

It's not automatic like the WF, if you just add a link, it will just show the link.

To add a video here you need to click the "Insert/embed media" link in the toolbar, it should open up a new window and thats where you need to add the YouTube url:

This is what I have had to do to make the video active:

When you open that window and insert the video link, you will also see a spot to select the "Type" of file it is. For example "Flash".

What I have to do is click the arrow beside Flash and then the Preview shows up and I click "Insert" (in the lower left corner) and we're off to the races!

(That's what I've had to do, anyway.)

Bill, in a regular thread post (like this one), in the Post a comment box, you will see the little film strip icon to the top right. Click it to open the Insert box.

I just went to my profile page, clicked on the "Edit Page" button (top right of page), then found all kinds of cool things a person can do! Including that Video Widget ... but haven't tried dragging and inserting yet.

Parallel universes? You better go to the News to Me! news group and click on Sal's item to do with Quantum Entanglements (I forget the actual news item name - something about Teleporting Energy).

Bill go back to where you were and press CTRL and F5 to do a page refresh.
That should clear the cache and cookies to load a fresh page.

Thanks for trying to help Gt and Michael. Someday I'll figure this out, but right now adding the widgets or refreshing the page, does absolutely nothing that I can detect.

Who knows, maybe I'm not even allergic to Kryptonite anymore.

Thanks for testing the video plugin Bill, please bear with me, it's a brand new plugin that needs much work... I haven't tested on all platforms/browsers/configs so your errors are a big help tyring to make sure this works for everyone.

I've tested on IE 8, and the latest version of FF & everything has been working OK on my end so far (which doesn't mean anything)... What version of FF or IE are you running/OS? Also, just thought of this... do you have anyhting like JavaScript disabled?

Not exactly sure why you can't view the embed toolbar button... would like to get more info from you...
